Is California the Ticket?

A Journey to Imperial Beach

March 24, 2004

I'm back home at work dreaming of that time when I will be traveling again. That time may be coming sooner than I think. In the meantime, I have learned that interesting places can be found close to home. One of these places is Imperial Beach, a smaller community on the beach about a 20 minute drive south of San Diego, California, not far from where I currently reset my feet in Chula Vista. What stories may lurk in Imperial Beach, California, I wonder?

Imperial Beach does have the distinction of being the most Southwesterly city in the continental U.S.:

Imperial Beach is a popular surfing spot:

There is great fishing to be found on the Imperial Beach pier walkway and no fishing license is needed:

At the end of the Imperial Beach pier is The Tin Fish, one of my favorite places to eat:

You never know what you might find in an interesting small town such as Imperial Beach. A movie, Lords of Dogtown, is being filmed right next to the pier:

These are just the highlights of my journey to Imperial Beach. For the full story, stay tuned to this web site!
